Flying High

Oh, to be a little girl,

Swinging to the sky

Not a nary care to bear,

Just wind, and birds, and sky.

Oh, to be a wee one here,

Adventure waits all day.

And when my momma picks me up,

All I need is play.

But I’m not a little girl,

And I have work to do.

So I find a quiet spot,

Beneath the sky so blue.

There I find my solitude,

There I pause, to pray.

The little girl inside of me,

Has a lot to say.

I find my rest, I find my peace,

He gently leads me here.

And fills me with His love divine,

So I can spread His cheer.

Barefoot girls and soft green grass,

(Who wouldn’t call this play?!)

The little girl inside of me,

Has had a lovely day.
